Much to the chagrin of her fans and social media followers, Shanna Moakler announced that she has tested positive for COVID-19 by posting a message on Instagram Stories. The 45-year-old actress and model shared the news of her diagnosis on July 2, telling her 1,79,000 followers that she received her test results a day before and it confirmed that she has tested positive for novel coronavirus.
Moakler said the report indicated she was in about day seven of contracting the deadly virus. Describing some of the symptoms she experienced including fever, coughing, and chills, Moakler said she was indescribably exhausted. The former Miss USA said she is following the guidance of a doctor and a nutritionist to improve her immune system to fight the pathogen.
Going in a full rest mode, Moakler expressed her appreciation to her fans and followers who continue supporting her by sending sweet messages. The former Miss USA said she has a great support team in the form of her friends and family members that keep her spirits up.
Before concluding her message, Moakler jokingly deemed July as an unlucky month for her and recalled breaking her foot last year around the same time. "On this date in July last year, I broke my foot, and then this year I got COVID," she said.
Moakler went as far as stating she would officially remove July from her calendar because it just not her month, PEOPLE reported. She kicked off 2020 by introducing radical lifestyle changes, which were clearly visible in her before-and-after photo that showed the noteworthy amount of weight she has lost in her fitness journey.
Urging her fans to ignore her looks in those photos, Moakler said she wanted to share her progress over a year. She admitted that some of her followers would point out that she looked fine despite the weight gain, the Meet the Barkers star said she hid her weight pretty well, adding that she wasn't really fine.
She posted the photos to her Instagram account in April. Moakler said she unhappy, felt miserable because she didn't get desired results despite working out like an animal. The first thing she did after deciding to change her life was to get a mommy makeover by board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon Leif Rogers.
This was in an attempt to fix her muscles, Moakler said. She appreciated plastic surgeon Leif Rogers and his staff and advised women who have had c sections or recti diastasis from babies to look into it. Aside from that, Moakler introduced major changes to her diet and started working with nutritionist David Allen, and even decided to stop eating just for emotional pleasure and started earing to fuel her body instead.
