Mama June Shannon is leaving no stone unturned in an attempt to get her life back on track. The WE tv reality star spoke about her past and current drug use in the latest episode of Mama June: Family Crisis. She admitted using a prescription pain medicine called Fioricet, which is prescribed to treat tension headache symptoms.
Aside from that, Mama June opened up about using Xanax, which is a benzodiazepine medication used by patients dealing with anxiety and panic disorders. These shocking revelations were made during a tear-jerking reunion with her daughter Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon.
In Friday's episode, June admitted that she sold the house citing financial crisis. Speaking about doing drugs with her boyfriend Eugene Edward "Geno" Doak, June points out that they were doing quite a bit at the time, adding that they took two ounces a day. Referring to her methamphetamine usage, she revealed that they would normally spend $2,500 or more daily.
Moreover, June said opting to do drugs was her choice, and she got high because she wanted to. She told June that doing drugs wasn't something that just started, or it was something that she was worried about being revealed. She noted that it was not the first time she had done drugs, adding that Pumpkin knows that.
Pumpkin pointed out that it was the first time since they have grown up that June has ever been ill at ease, adding that it is not just that she needed to get clean, but Geno needs to get clean as well. Lauryn and Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson's relationship with June has been tensed since their mother was arrested last year on possession of drug paraphernalia and other controlled substance charges after she reportedly had a crack pipe and crack cocaine on her.
June's boyfriend Doak was arrested as well and was charged with third-degree domestic violence, along with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. In Sept. they were both charged with felonies. A Macon County District Attorney’s Office rep told PEOPLE last year that the couple's attorney, Daniel Wright, filed for a not guilty plea in an Alabama courthouse on their behalf.
Citing June's drug usage, Pumpkin opted not to bring Honey Boo Boo to the reunion. She explained that June needs to understand that she can't allow her 2-year-old daughter, Ella, and Alana, 14, in this kind of environment. June told her daughter that she has refrained from doing drugs recently, but Pumpkin was happy that her mother was sober at their meetup, she noted that she was done with Geno.
