The British royal couple, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, have been the center of media attention for various reasons over the past few years. Recently, speculations about Meghan Markle working on a memoir have been making rounds. However, branding experts have advised the Duchess of Sussex to reconsider the timing of such a release, given the declining public interest in the Sussexes.

Meghan Markle, the American-born actress who became the Duchess of Sussex after marrying Prince Harry, has been rumored to be working on an explosive memoir. This speculation comes in the wake of Prince Harry's memoir titled "Spare," which was released earlier this year. While there has been no official confirmation about Meghan's memoir, PR expert Edward Coram-James has weighed in on the matter.

Coram-James, in an interview, expressed his reservations about the potential release of Meghan's autobiography in the near future. He stated, "I would be surprised were Meghan to release an autobiography any time in the next few years." He further elaborated that from a branding perspective, it might not be the best time for such a release, especially when "the world is arguably a little tired of hearing from you." He pointed out that the interest in the Sussexes has been on a decline recently, and their public image has taken a hit this year.

The Sussexes have been in the limelight for various reasons, including their decision to step back from royal duties in 2020, their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021, and Prince Harry's memoir. Coram-James believes that the couple has often defied traditional PR norms, sometimes to their detriment. He mentioned, "That being said, the Sussexes have defied many a long-held PR golden rule over the past few years." He suggested that Meghan should wait for a time when public interest in the couple rises again before releasing any personal-centric material like an autobiography.

A source close to Meghan revealed that she is keen on sharing her truth but hopes for a reconciliation between Prince Harry and King Charles before doing so. The source stated, "She fully intends to write this book and leave no stone unturned. It’s just a question of timing and how long she wishes to hold out in order to preserve what’s left of her and Harry’s relationship with King Charles."

The couple's popularity has seen its ups and downs, especially after their candid interview with Oprah, where they discussed their experiences as members of the royal family. Prince Harry's book, initially set for release in late 2022, was postponed to January 2023, following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. Despite the delay in the memoir's release, the couple went ahead with their Netflix docuseries in December 2022, just three months after the Queen's demise.

Coram-James also shared his belief that Meghan's potential memoir might not achieve the same level of success as Prince Harry's. He cited several reasons, including the lack of any major revelations in Harry's book.

As the world waits to see if Meghan Markle will indeed release a memoir and what it might contain, one thing is clear: the Sussexes continue to be a topic of global interest, even as opinions about them remain divided.
