With President Joe Biden advancing in age, there are rising concerns within political and medical circles about his ability to serve out his full term, which ends in 2025. At 80, Biden is the oldest individual to hold the U.S. presidency, and some observers believe his health has noticeably deteriorated since taking office in January 2021.
Prominent conservative, retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely commented, “It’s embarrassing to have a leader who appears so infirm on the world stage.” Dr. Gabe Mirkin, a longevity expert based in Florida, pointed out visible signs of advanced aging, stating, "If you look at his face, you will see significantly increased wrinkling and loss of facial fat."
Though the president's personal physician has affirmed Biden is "fit to successfully execute the duties of the presidency," others are less convinced. Notably, First Lady Jill Biden has dismissed speculations about her husband's health, labeling them "ridiculous." However, insiders allege that President Biden has made candid remarks about his own mortality in private conversations.
Several doctors have spotlighted potential indicators of cognitive issues. Dr. Carole Lieberman, a Beverly Hills forensic psychiatrist, highlighted common signs of progressive dementia such as "memory loss or lapses, rambling speech, poor impulse control, and irritability."
Recent public statements have fueled these concerns. In one week alone, Biden made questionable claims about visiting Ground Zero in 2001, his tenure at the University of Pennsylvania, and ended a press conference on a bewildering note, saying, “I tell you what — I don’t know about you, but I’m going to bed!”
Furthermore, Biden's November 2021 physical examination indicated he has atrial fibrillation (AFib). This condition, characterized by an irregular heartbeat, can significantly heighten the risk of stroke. Additionally, given Biden's history of brain aneurysms and subsequent surgeries, some medical experts suggest his susceptibility to a stroke could be even greater.
While the discussion about President Biden's health is ongoing, the nation watches closely, understanding the immense challenges and pressures of the presidency and the toll it can take on any individual.
