The 50-year-old "Batman" star and his 54-year-old superstar bride reportedly spent $60 million on a sprawling Beverly Hills estate and promptly added an exclusive, adult-only area that remains out of bounds for their combined family, sources indicate.
Affleck co-parents Violet, 17, Seraphina, 14, and Samuel, 11, with his former spouse, Jennifer Garner. On the other hand, Lopez is mother to 14-year-old twins Max and Emme, fathered by her previous husband Marc Anthony.
An insider discloses, "With all these kids at the house, their adult time can be easily compromised. Jennifer thought the best solution would be to create a soundproof, heavily-secured sanctuary that's completely off-limits to the children."
As per the source, this new addition to their household provides the couple with a private retreat, which is necessary given their ever-present kids. The children are in the dark about the actual purpose of this room, having been told it's a soundproof conference room.
"The children believe it's a conference room, but when Ben and Jennifer retreat there, they're not conducting business calls," the informant shares. The secluded area allows the couple to enjoy intimate moments such as shared baths and sensual film viewing. "It's a sanctuary built for pleasure, and they're making the most out of it," the source added.
As the couple's focus is wholly on reigniting their marriage, having an area for privacy is crucial. However, they are also mindful of maintaining respect for their children and preventing any uncomfortable situations.
