Siwa, during an episode of Nick Viall's podcast, admitted that she was disconcerted by the Fuller House star's remarks. Siwa explained, "It’s fine if you are doing it because it’s just your movie’s story line and it is what it is ... not everything needs to be gay essentially. But when you’re doing it out of spite to say that, ‘Too much is about LGBTQIA and you guys suck and I want to make a movie about traditional marriage and you’re not traditional,’ that got to me a little bit.”
The 20-year-old dancer and singer further stated that she has come to terms with the fact that she and Bure will never agree or be friends. She expressed her wish for Bure to be more open and accepting. Despite the disagreement, Siwa remains firm in her decision to call out Bure for her comments.
