Former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson, ousted from his high-profile position, is charting a course of vengeful retaliation against his former network, say insiders. The 54-year-old's unyielding desire to reclaim his media status has allegedly morphed him into a fervent despot, seemingly on the brink of an emotional collapse.
Operating primarily through Twitter broadcasts since his departure from Fox, Carlson has transformed his social media presence into a platform for venting his ire. This wrath indiscriminately targets what he perceives as stupidity and injustice, with politics often being at the center of his tirades.
He has already railed against Hunter Biden’s tax evasion plea deal with federal authorities, and engaged in a controversial mockery of the U.S. Secretary of Health, Rachel Levine, intentionally misgendering her in a five-minute diatribe.
“Tucker is totally living in his own world,” reveals a source. “Pulling 14-hour workdays, and in his downtime, bingeing on junk food while brewing over perceived foes and plotting retribution.”
Carlson, according to insiders, is a devout Fox viewer and regularly fulminates against those he views as traitors who contributed to his downfall. He is also said to be convinced that he will reclaim Fox's audience. As previously reported, Carlson was ousted from his lucrative Fox position, valued at $20 million per annum, on April 24. This followed Fox's settlement of a hefty $787.5 million defamation lawsuit filed by Dominion Voting Systems. Dominion alleged that Fox and its star anchors had intentionally circulated false narratives claiming their voting machines had manipulated the 2020 presidential election's outcome to disfavor Donald Trump.
Despite these setbacks, Carlson, whose recent Twitter broadcast amassed 7.9 million views, is reportedly courting conservative power brokers to fund his independent media venture. This move has drawn the ire of Fox executives who claim Carlson's Twitter show contravenes a non-compete clause in his former contract and have subsequently issued a cease-and-desist order.
Despite Fox's commitment to honor Carlson's salary until 2024, the ex-anchor seems undeterred, inciting irritation through continued broadcasts on Twitter. "The truth is, this course of action is turning him into a bitter, authoritarian aspirant, or at best, a nonsensical caricature," said an informant.
