In a surprising revelation, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson has opened up about his past battle with alcoholism and his unexpected friendship with Hunter Biden. The details emerged during Carlson's extensive conversations with author Chadwick Moore for the upcoming book, "Tucker."

Carlson, who was once a prominent figure on Fox News, shared that he used to start his day with four screwdriver cocktails, a mix of vodka and orange juice. This was at a time when he was a father of three. He decided to clean up his act right before the birth of his fourth child with wife Susan Andrews in 2002. The withdrawal was a harrowing experience, and Carlson expressed sympathy for those grappling with addiction.

However, his empathy did not extend fully to his old friend Hunter Biden. While acknowledging their shared struggle with addiction, Carlson criticized Hunter for the pain he caused his family. "Look at Hunter, no matter what you now think of him or the family as public figures, the guy really hurt his daughters and his wonderful wife, totally wrecked her life, humiliated his father, whom he really loves," Carlson said. "That's real. And his dad really loves him. He hurt all these people, hurt himself, degraded himself."

Despite his criticism, Carlson also revealed an unlikely friendship between the Bidens and his own family. He spoke of Hunter and his first wife, Kathleen, frequently staying at his family's home in Maine. "Our wives are very close, they were running partners," Carlson said of Kathleen, whom he admired for her impressive character.

Carlson's views on the Biden family's political stance were also surprising. He claimed that the Bidens he knew were not "liberal" in the contemporary sense. "Hunter Biden was not liberal in any sense that I recognized. Biden has since become a trans activist and all that, but his family, they were pretty darn Catholic," Carlson told Moore. "They weren't anti-gun at all. Hunter and Kathleen weren't for abortion."

In Carlson's view, the Bidens represented the "old Democratic party, the white working-class Democratic party, that does not exist anymore." He added, "Biden was about the last relic of that."

Despite the harsh critique of Hunter, Carlson acknowledged President Joe Biden's unconditional love for his son and described him as "famously stupid" but also "very friendly." The revelations paint a complex picture of the relationships and personal struggles behind the public personas of these prominent figures.
