Royal analyst Sarah Robertson speculates that Meghan Markle had grand hopes of achieving Princess Diana's celebrated status when she tied the knot with Prince Harry, but the reality has been far from her expectations.

During a recent appearance on Kevin O'Sullivan's TalkTV show, Robertson divulged that the Sussexes' standing in Hollywood has been "shaken" due to recent professional setbacks, including the termination of their Spotify contract. It should be noted that International Business Times was unable to independently validate these claims.

According to Robertson, Markle's attempt to recruit A-list celebrities for her now-defunct Spotify podcast "Archetypes" was met with rejection. She said, "She was trying to get ... A-listers like Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, and other big Hollywood stars. They don't want to touch her. They don't want anything to do with her."

The royal commentator added, "She thought marrying into the royal family was going to elevate her to a status of what Princess Diana had, to be the most famous woman in the world, who everyone wants to be affiliated with and wants to be seen with and to do business deals with."

However, the alleged expectations that Markle had when entering the royal family didn't come to fruition, prompting a shift in focus towards her Hollywood return, according to Robertson. "She's looked at Harry and thought, 'Well, it's not working with you. I'm getting dragged down with you [Harry], who clearly hates being in the spotlight,'" Robertson said.

This "plan B" involves Ari Emanuel from WME, a significant figure in Hollywood, as per Robertson's claims. In April, WME confirmed their representation of Markle.

The talent agency declared on Instagram, "We are honored to announce that WME now represents Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, in all areas." They plan to enhance her business engagements across various facets of the industry, such as film, television production, and brand partnerships.

While there was no explicit mention of Prince Harry in WME's announcement, reports from Variety suggested that the agency would manage the Duke of Sussex and Markle's content creation label, Archewell.

However, royal author Lady Colin Campbell inferred that Markle's collaboration with WME could indicate her distancing from royal duties. In a conversation with Dan Wootton on GB News, she said, "Meghan is not going to make a great deal of money if it materializes because she is damaged goods, and they know they can get her for very little. Meghan needs a brand like Dior far more than Dior needs a brand like Meghan."
