Sarah "Fergie" Ferguson, the Duchess of York, is said to be making fervent appeals to Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, known as Kate Middleton, in hopes of halting King Charles's plans to evict her and Prince Andrew from their royal abode, palace insiders reveal. "Fergie is urgently trying to avert Andrew's ouster, instigated by Charles. They're counting on the influence of Kate, William's wife, to bring a sense of reason to the king. But the odds seem stacked against them," an insider divulged.

Prince Andrew's standing in the eyes of the monarch has waned due to scandal, while Fergie's relationship with the royal family remains strained following her contentious divorce from Prince Andrew, Charles's younger brother, over two decades ago. Despite the split, the pair has continued to cohabitate, now resisting their removal from the palace-owned Royal Lodge.

The insider adds, "Given her strained relations, Fergie cannot directly seek Charles's help. Hence, she's turning to Kate, who appears to be their last resort."

Prince Andrew, 63, saw his royal duties curtailed following allegations of sexual assault leveled by Virginia Giuffre, who was a minor in the infamous Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking case. While he denies the allegations, he has settled out of court with Giuffre for an estimated $12 million. After losing his royal salary due to the scandal, the prince, on a meager $27,000 annual Royal Navy pension, has reportedly been dependent on his ex-wife Sarah to meet their living expenses.

Kate Middleton, expected to become Britain's next queen, shares a close bond with her father-in-law, says a courtier, adding, "Undoubtedly, Kate has a special place in the king's heart. Fergie hopes to leverage this to her advantage."

Sarah was noticeably absent from the guest list when Kate married Prince William in 2011. However, sources say that she doesn't believe the omission was intentional. According to insiders, Sarah has been trying to forge a strong connection with Kate over the past 12 years, in what many perceive as a strategic move to regain her standing in the royal court.

"Fergie is no fool," an insider notes. "She's always made an effort to establish a rapport with Kate. Fergie and Andrew have few allies within the family, but having Kate on their side could be a game-changer. Fergie is both shrewd and desperate."
