Washington insiders are leveling allegations against President Joe Biden, accusing him of intervening to shield his son Hunter from severe legal consequences. Critics suggest that the Bidens' actions reflect potential misconduct within the first family.
Hunter Biden, the President's 53-year-old son and previously a drug addict, managed to secure a lenient plea deal for two charges. The charges were related to alleged tax evasion amounting to a minimum of $3 million from secret foreign income in 2017 and 2018. Critics, particularly from the Republican side, have linked this income to a contentious influence-brokering scheme allegedly involving President Biden himself.
This plea agreement has effectively helped Hunter avoid more significant accusations. These include not registering as a foreign agent, money laundering, and, according to some Republicans, a potential connection to human trafficking via his engagements with Eastern European sex workers.
South Carolina's Republican Representative Nancy Mace voiced her disappointment with the situation, accusing the Department of Justice of a lack of commitment to pursuing charges against the Bidens. "The Department of Justice proved today they are not serious about holding the Biden family accountable for crimes that have been committed," Mace asserted.

In addition to the lenient plea deal for tax evasion, Hunter, a former Navy reservist who was dismissed due to a positive cocaine test, also received a no-jail arrangement for falsifying past drug use on a firearms ownership form.
Critics allege that there was substantial evidence that could have resulted in a plethora of charges against Hunter, such as violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act. Evidence, they claim, was found in a series of emails recovered from his now-infamous discarded laptop. These communications allegedly showed that Hunter met with his father shortly after interactions with foreign nationals, fueling suspicions of influence peddling at the highest level.
In a move that's raising eyebrows, insiders reveal that Hunter Biden reportedly appealed to his father, Joe Biden, for financial support. At the time, Joe Biden served as Vice President under Barack Obama. This monetary assistance was purportedly intended for the Crown Princes of Yugoslavia and Serbia.
Jonathan Turley, a law professor at George Washington University, claimed such evidence was “unassailable and undeniable.”
The investigation led by the Republican majority House Oversight Committee suggests that a "highly reliable" informant tipped off the FBI in 2020. The informant claimed that a Ukrainian entrepreneur had revealed to him that both Hunter and Joe Biden were receiving $5 million apiece to wield U.S. influence to the businessman's advantage.
During the tenure of President Barack Obama, when Joe Biden held the office of Vice President, Hunter Biden reportedly received up to $50,000 monthly as an advisor to Burisma Holdings. This Ukranian oil and natural gas firm has been accused of effectively "purchasing" Joe Biden's favor. However, both Bidens have firmly denied these allegations of corruption and bribery, with Joe Biden claiming to have no involvement in Hunter's business affairs.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, a Republican, claims that Hunter Biden is being given a lenient treatment despite mounting evidence suggesting involvement in corruption and potentially bribery. "Hunter Biden is getting away with a slap on the wrist when growing evidence uncovered by the House Oversight Committee reveals the Bidens engaged in a pattern of corruption, influence peddling and possibly bribery," Comer states. However, a Democratic insider relayed to The ENQUIRER that they hope the Oversight Committee's investigation will lose steam following Hunter's plea.
A Democratic source shared their concern about the ongoing investigations into Hunter Biden. "It's been a headache from the start and it's only going to get worse as the campaign gets into gear. The Democrats want all of Hunter's scandals made moot," the source said.
Hunter Biden's legal troubles were in the news once again as he agreed to decrease his child support payments to Lunden Roberts, his 32-year-old ex-partner and a former exotic dancer. Roberts and Hunter share a four-year-old daughter named Navy, with whom Hunter and Joe Biden have reportedly had minimal contact.
Political insiders suggest that the recent plea deal and the settlement with Roberts are part of Joe Biden's effort to settle matters ahead of his potential 2024 campaign. A Beltway source commented, "They're obviously cleaning up. These are problems Joe is making go away."
