An individual with inside knowledge stated that Foxx is "getting the best care and working hard to recover right now." Nevertheless, the actor isn't quite back to his old self and is heavily relying on his closest circle for support during his recovery.
Foxx, now 55, has provided scant details about the grave health concern that warranted hospitalization back in April. Similarly, he has been notably tight-lipped about his ongoing recuperation. At the film's Los Angeles premiere on June 26, Boyega revealed that he had recently spoken with Foxx over the phone. The actor said, "He finally picked up the phone. Thank you, bro. He's doing well." Boyega also voiced his support for Foxx's right to privacy during his recovery and expressed anticipation for Foxx's return.
"I gave him all the well wishes. So I'm just gonna be waiting until he comes back out here. So take your time, Jamie. We love you, bro," Boyega added.
"They Cloned Tyrone" co-producer Datari Turner also conveyed optimism about Foxx's recovery from his hospitalization. "He's doing amazing. I promise you. Doing really, really good," Turner said. He added that both he and the film's director, Juel Taylor, had recently spoken to Foxx, noting that the actor is in "really, really good shape and spirits."
Porscha Coleman, who worked with Foxx on "Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!" also sounded hopeful. In a conversation with Entertainment Tonight, she stated that according to sources close to Foxx, "he's resting," and assured that "he's well and he's going to be back. Trust and believe."
Foxx's eldest daughter, Corinne Foxx, was the first to announce her father's health struggles in an Instagram post, now removed, on April 12. She reassured fans that "due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery."
