As per a royal analyst's insights, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are supposedly cognizant of the precarious state of their public image.
Esther Krakue, a well-known writer, broadcaster, and frequent guest on Sky News Australia's "The Royal Report," recently joined host Caroline Di Russo to dissect the current situation surrounding the Sussexes, especially given the swirling rumours of their impending rebrand.
"Right now, all eyes are on the Sussexes, everyone is eager to know their next move," stated Krakue. She further elaborated on a mix of circumstances potentially contributing to what some see as the diminishing of the Sussex brand. "There are multiple factors at play in what appears to be the waning influence of the Sussexes, assuming it ever had any true traction to begin with," she remarked.
Krakue noted that the Sussexes' departure from the royal family coincided with the onset of global lockdowns. She pointed out that during this period, streaming services such as Spotify and Netflix experienced a surge in subscriptions. However, as life slowly returns to normal, these platforms have started to see a decline in user base.
Krakue criticized the couple for producing minimal content and seeming to lack a coherent focus. She expressed, "Now, we see a scenario where there is scant content, no clear direction from the Sussexes, disappointing production value, and streaming platforms investing in the couple not getting their money's worth. This creates an unfavorable atmosphere for them, as they don't have a reputation in the industry for producing high-quality content."
According to Krakue, the dwindling public interest and eroding reputation are also problematic for the couple. "Their current state isn't promising, and it's likely they're aware of this. This could explain their new PR team and the rumoured rebranding efforts," she conjectured.
However, these claims have not been independently confirmed by the International Business Times.
In April, William Morris Endeavor (WME) confirmed that Markle had signed a deal with the agency, which aims to "focus on developing her business ventures across several areas of the agency and its wider ecosystem, including film and television production, brand partnerships, and more."
In an unexpected twist, former BBC journalist and royal author Tom Bower alleged that the Sussexes were contemplating adopting Princess Diana's surname, "Spencer," following their controversial actions. Conversely, Prince Harry's biographer, Angela Levin, expressed skepticism over the claim, stating, "She wouldn't be pleased about this at all," during her appearance on "GB News." She further indicated Princess Diana's disapproval of adopting the Spencer name based on her writings on Princess Diana's father.
