Following a tumultuous divorce from Brandon Blackstock, acclaimed singer Kelly Clarkson has shared insights into what she seeks in a future partner and what she considers unacceptable.

As part of a popular social media trend, the mother-of-two recently played with the "red flags" filter, which she found particularly fitting given her latest single titled "Red Flag Collector."

Clarkson revealed her relationship deal-breakers, stating, "I think my red flags are like, a liar, somebody that projects their own issues on you and someone that doesn't have friends." She further questioned, "No friends? Why? None? That's weird."

Whether her ex-husband Blackstock, 46, falls into any of these categories remains unclear. However, their split was undeniably contentious, featuring disputes over spousal support, custody, and asset division.

The intricate journey of their relationship, including its highs and lows, is encapsulated in Clarkson's forthcoming album, Chemistry, set to release on Friday, June 23. Besides, the "Breakaway" singer has also openly discussed her emotional turmoil in numerous interviews.

"It rips you apart whenever you fall in love with someone and it doesn't work. I think the thing about divorce — especially having it publicized, and people thinking they know the whole thing — the hardest part of that is, like, it wasn't an overnight decision," confessed Clarkson. She and Blackstock co-parent their two children, River Rose, 8, and Remington Alexander, 7.

Clarkson reiterated her sentiments about the distress of love lost and the public nature of her divorce, emphasizing that the decision wasn't made hastily.

Having navigated the stormy seas of her split, the Texan singer is now looking ahead to new beginnings. She recently relocated her talk show from Los Angeles to New York City, symbolizing a fresh start. The shift in location won't impact the custody arrangement with Blackstock, given that they lived in different states post-divorce.

An insider shed light on their post-divorce dynamics, stating, "She has a great co-parenting relationship with Brandon, but things haven’t always been easy in terms of their personal relationship." The source added, "However, they’ve come a long way and are handling things with their kids really well."
