King Charles, backed by influential members of the royal family, is said to be quietly observing the escalating friction between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. According to close courtiers, they hold onto the hope that Harry will choose to come back to his roots in the UK, sans his allegedly domineering wife, Meghan.
According to a palace source, the monarch, Queen Camilla, and the Prince of Wales, William, are beginning to suspect that the couple's five-year marriage might be on shaky ground.
The insider revealed that Harry faces a binary decision: either continue living in California under Meghan's sway, a situation that is increasingly seeming to cause him distress, or break free for the collective betterment.
"While the royal family doesn't wish for the dissolution of any household, they'd welcome any development that might break Harry's 'spell', even if it comes in the form of a temporary separation from Meghan," the source shared.
As readers of National ENQUIRER know, the Sussexes stepped back from royal responsibilities to pursue a more commercial route, complete with explosive interviews, a revealing Netflix docuseries, and Harry's controversial memoir, "Spare". An informant suggests that Harry's estranged father, stepmother, and his sole brother, William, along with sister-in-law Kate, yearn for the Harry of yore, "before Meghan allegedly turned him against his own family."
"Charles and William would very much like to engage more actively with Harry, to invite him for visits, and so forth," the source disclosed. "However, they believe that with Meghan in the picture, the potential backlash might outweigh the benefits."
This doesn't imply that the royals aren't tracking the unfolding saga in the US. They find it hard to ignore the persistent rumors of strain between Harry and Meghan.
In a recent incident, the Sussexes faced criticism for their purported dramatization of a “near catastrophic car chase” with paparazzi in New York, an incident that has been challenged on both sides of the Atlantic. Meghan, 41, further sparked discussion by opting out of the Gracie Awards show in Beverly Hills, where she was recognized for her Archetypes podcast.
“The royal family is watching events unfold and wondering about their impact on Harry’s marital life,” the insider hinted. “They’d prefer to see Harry maintain his marital status but reconcile his differences with his family. However, they fear this may be improbable given Meghan's apparent influence over him.”
Despite the optics of Harry's wealth and newfound autonomy, the 38-year-old seems burdened, observers note. "As long as Meghan is in the picture, it's feared that Harry might remain trapped in his self-created isolation. If this continues, restoring familial ties seems a distant dream," the insider concluded.
