The news that Al Pacino is expecting a child at 83 was met with astonishment by many, but insiders reveal that for the renowned actor, it was another notch in his competitive battle with fellow Hollywood legend, Robert De Niro. Interestingly, this announcement comes hot on the heels of De Niro's revelation that he too is expecting a child at 79.
Pacino and De Niro, both Oscar-winning actors, share a strong friendship that is tinged with a friendly rivalry, according to a source close to both. “They’re comrades in the truest sense, yet they’re perpetually seeking to outdo one another,” the insider divulges.
"Pacino was beaming as he shared the news of expecting his first child with model Noor Alfallah. He is quite thrilled to end De Niro's short-lived stint as the oldest father in Hollywood. 'I still got it!' Pacino exclaimed to his friends," the source added.
Both actors, apart from the pride of becoming fathers at a mature age, share the distinction of expecting children with significantly younger partners. De Niro's seventh child is with his partner, 45-year-old martial artist and producer Tiffany Chen, with whom he has been in a relationship since August 2021.
In contrast, Pacino's partner, Alfallah, is only 29. Despite this age difference win, Pacino trails De Niro in the number of children; this will be his fourth child. Pacino is a father to three adult children: Julie, 33, from his relationship with acting coach Jan Tarrant, and twins Olivia and Anton, 22, from his relationship with actress Beverly D’Angelo.
Alfallah has a noted history of relationships with older men, having previously dated Mick Jagger at 74 and billionaire Nicolas Berggruen at 61.
Despite the jovial rivalry, becoming a father again at such an advanced age left Pacino somewhat taken aback, insiders reveal.
"Al was genuinely surprised," a friend confides. "However, he's adapting to the idea and bracing himself for baby duties after a hiatus of many years."
Nevertheless, Pacino is quietly relishing his latest victory over De Niro in the 'oldest father' stakes.
"Pacino is parading this achievement around Hollywood like a coveted trophy, proudly proclaiming to anyone willing to listen that he has outdone De Niro," the source discloses.
"In Pacino's mind, this feels akin to outpacing De Niro in the race for an Oscar!"
The National Enquirer reported on the source's comments.
