Former President Donald Trump unleashed a fiery critique of his ex-Attorney General Bill Barr in a conversation with long-time associate Roger Stone, whom he granted a pardon in 2020.
Trump, 76, expressed outrage over his recent indictment, referring to it as a "disgrace." He targeted Barr for his perceived inaction during his tenure as the Attorney General. "Anyone apart from a disgrace like Bill Barr, who I had to dismiss due to his lack of courage, knows this indictment is a scandal," said Trump. "Barr proved himself to be a coward and failed in his duties."
"We were fortunate to have remarkable people in our administration," Trump continued. "But we also had a few selections that proved to be mistakes. And Bill Barr was one of those errors. Now, he takes a seat—if he can locate a suitable chair—and indulges in pompous rhetoric, which is a shame. It's not just an affront to our nation; it's harmful. But, he harbors a lot of animosity. Bill Barr is a simple-minded person in many aspects and a true slob."
Trump was responding to Barr's recent appearance on Fox News Sunday, where the former Attorney General suggested Trump could face significant legal challenges.
"If even a fraction of [the indictment] is accurate, then his situation is grim. The indictment is meticulously detailed and severely incriminating," Barr had said.
As previously reported by OK!, Trump, the business magnate turned politician, is facing a minimum of seven charges concerning the mishandling of classified information post-presidency.
In the wake of these charges, Trump has been publicly airing his grievances.
While attending a weekend event in Georgia, Trump reiterated his belief that he is the subject of unfair targeting.
"They're not attacking me; they're attacking you—I'm merely the obstacle," the ex-reality TV star commented. "Every time I traverse a Democratic state, I receive a subpoena."
He proceeded to impersonate Democrats hoping for his incarceration, stating, "They're demanding a grand jury trial." He termed this relentless pursuit a "perversion of justice." Trump added, "We're witnessing Joe Biden's attempt to imprison his main political adversary—an adversary currently outperforming him in the polls—mirroring the tactics of Stalinist Russia or communist China. It's no different."
