Kevin Hunter Jr., Wendy Williams' son, is expressing deep concern for his mother's health and the company she keeps in a recent interview.
The 22-year-old discussed the former talk show host's struggle with substance abuse and deteriorating health. He also shared his anxieties about the intentions of those currently close to Williams.
"There are events unfolding that I'm certain she would never consent to in a sober state," Hunter Jr. claimed regarding his mother. "As painful as it is to witness her exploitation, my main concern is her wellbeing. Ultimately, she will become aware of the madness that's been unfolding."
He voiced his disapproval of those who prioritize her income generation over her health. "Her health may not be in the best state, but those around her insist on her maintaining her income stream, which, in my view, is totally misguided," Hunter Jr. expressed, speaking of his mother, who stepped away from The Wendy Williams Show in 2021 due to escalating health issues. "The newly appointed personnel are clearly taking advantage of someone who needs to recuperate."
The university student also shared his thoughts on his mother's struggle with alcoholism, a battle that led her to spend time at a rehabilitation facility in Malibu last year. "Several people are well aware of her drinking problem, and how it could potentially be addressed. Yet, it appears they are exploiting it, while making it seem as though they aren't the instigators," he said.
He continued, "They manipulated her into consenting to things she should never have agreed to. When I discovered this, I was disgusted." He also expressed concerns about the perceived manipulation of his mother, suggesting, "Now that she's alone, let's see if we can steer her behavior or control how she manages herself."
Hunter Jr. concluded with a poignant allegation, "Even if they aren't supplying it, they are certainly endorsing a certain persona and implicitly condoning her drinking."
