Former Playboy model Dasha Astafieva, who found herself in the midst of Vladimir Putin's drone attack on Kyiv, has narrated her harrowing experience during what she termed as the "night of terror."
Astafieva, 37, was in the Ukrainian capital last Sunday when Putin ordered a fleet of 54 kamikaze drones to strike Kyiv as the city was set to commemorate its 1,541st anniversary of founding.
The Ukrainian model and her pet dog sought refuge in the hallway of her apartment building amidst the relentless drone onslaught.
In a series of images shared from the night of the attack, Astafieva didn't mince words, condemning Russia's aggression and labeling it as the "greatest global evil." "I wish hell on every lousy Russian, and to all those who still don't comprehend their destructive presence here," she expressed.
She went on to warn, "As long as we entertain, engage, and accept them among us, life will only be a series of terrible days.”
Astafieva, who boasts a following of over 600,000 Instagram users, has been using her platform to voice her objection to Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.
Earlier this year, she posted a rallying call to her compatriots, urging them to maintain their courage and resilience. "Warriors, defenders! We trust and wait. We are thinking about what we are waiting for, and we will prevail,” she encouraged. "Thank you for your incredible will, courage, and strength."
The 37-year-old rose to fame in 2007, earning the title of Ukrainian Playmate of the Year. Later, she was selected as Playmate of the Month in the U.S and was chosen by Hugh Hefner himself as the magazine's 55th Anniversary Playmate. "I cried when Hef told me,” she recalled. “I couldn’t believe it."
According to Ukrainian intelligence, Putin commanded the drone attack on Kyiv on Sunday. Ukrainian military authorities also confirmed the assault, reporting that only two of the 54 drones were intercepted and destroyed prior to the commencement of the attack.
This onslaught on Kyiv marks a fresh escalation in Putin’s war on Ukraine, closely following Russia’s purported successful capture of the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut.
