Princess Beatrice and her Italian fiancé, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, confirmed their engagement in September 2019. Since then, details about their forthcoming wedding have not been made public as Prince Andrew's daughter was reportedly "forced" to put off the official announcement two times amid her father's scandal.
However, a report from Dan Wootton of The Sun stated that Princess Beatrice will have her wedding on May 29, which will be followed by a reception at the Buckingham Palace. The palace, however, has not announced anything official so far because Princess Beatrice and Edo are apparently still trying to lock in the wedding ceremony's venue.
Sources told The Sun that the decision regarding Princess Beatrice and Edo's wedding were delayed repeatedly because of Prince Andrew's association with the deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Finally, however, the couple seems to have secured a wedding venue, sans the wedding ceremony, but this is expected to go ahead without any problems.
It was Queen Elizabeth who reportedly offered for Princess Beatrice and Edo to have a Buckingham Palace wedding reception. Sources said that the Queen's granddaughter was more than grateful to accept.
According to the Daily Mail, this will be the first wedding celebration at Buckingham Palace after Prince William and Duchess Kate got married in 2011. Princess Beatrice will not follow in the style of her sister Princess Eugenie's wedding as she exchanged vows with husband Jack Brooksbank in Windsor last October 2018. Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan also got married in Windsor a few months before Princess Eugenie and Jack.
Sources told the British tabloids that Queen Elizabeth wants Princess Beatrice's wedding to Edo to be the one event that will bring the royal family together. It's unclear, however, if this means Prince Harry and Meghan will be attending the festivities this coming May.
Meanwhile, reports stated that Princess Beatrice wants no fanfare at her wedding because it does not fit her personality. The older York princess is apparently a very private and shy person compared to her sister.
Speculations about Princess Beatrice's wedding point to a potential date before the Queen's favorite holiday, the Royal Ascot, which happens in June. The Queen is also set to travel to Balmoral for the summer, hence some royal fans think the royal wedding will take place before this.
As of press time, Buckingham Palace said that it will announce the details of Princess Beatrice's wedding in due time.
