Renowned British composer Sir Karl Jenkins recently addressed rumors that he was Meghan Markle in disguise at King Charles III's coronation on May 6. Jenkins, who was present at the event, became the subject of speculation after some eagle-eyed viewers noticed his presence in Westminster Abbey.

During the ceremony, a man wearing a moustache and eyeglasses seated in a prominent location caught the attention of royal watchers, leading to theories that the Duchess of Sussex was secretly attending the event in disguise. However, the person in question was none other than Jenkins, who had contributed to the service's musical score.

In a TikTok video on his official account, karljenkinsofficial, the composer addressed the rumors, saying, "I was there because I'd written some music for the service really." He also expressed surprise that some people thought he was Meghan Markle in disguise, adding, "Someone wrote I was there, whoever I was, to steal the crown jewels. I look this way all the time."

Jenkins went on to clarify that he could not have been the former "Suits" actress, as he was wearing a ribbon and medal around his neck, which he received upon being knighted. "This goes around my neck, over which my tie came...Oh, and my moustache has been referred to in The Times as well, but I've had the moustache since I was 18 years old. It was very trendy then. So, that's me. Nothing sinister or surprising at all!"

The 79-year-old composer, famous for his 1995 song "Adiemus," was seated close to where King Charles III and Queen Camilla were crowned, next to fellow composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. Lloyd Webber also responded on Twitter to the theories about Jenkins' identity, jokingly confirming that it "probably wasn't MM [Meghan Markle] and had no jewels on his person as far as I could see—ALW."

Netizens praised Sir Jenkins for his humorous and classy response to the speculation. One commenter wrote, "Very classy, very funny, very knight-like," while another added, "You're fabulous for addressing this interest."

The Duchess of Sussex did not attend King Charles III's coronation, instead remaining in California with her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Prince Harry attended the service solo, appearing cheerful as he chatted with his cousins and their spouses. However, he returned to California soon after the ceremony to celebrate Prince Archie's fourth birthday on May 6. Meghan Markle was later spotted hiking with friends Markus Anderson and Heather Dorak.
