On a recent episode of his Sirius XM radio program, The Howard Stern Show, iconic host Howard Stern blasted King Charles and the royal family for conducting an extravagant coronation ceremony while England grapples with economic challenges.
Stern, aged 69, criticized King Charles just two days after the monarch's coronation, urging England to reevaluate its priorities. “I understand, maybe it brings in tourism, but Jesus H. Christ,” Stern said to his co-host Robin Quivers on Monday's show. Stern went on to label King Charles as "a p----" and expressed his distaste for the ceremony, which he found "disgusting" and "repugnant."
The outspoken host argued that the lavish event was held in spite of England's economic woes, making it all the more distasteful. “It was disgusting,” Stern stated. “And I’ll tell you why it’s disgusting. I mean, it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to say this, but, you know, England’s having its own economic problems and they spent a fortune on that coronation.”

Stern acknowledged the role of royal events in attracting tourism but maintained that the coronation sent the wrong message. “It’s part of the tourism. I get all that,” he said. “I’m not naïve, but it just sends the wrong message.”
This is not the first time Stern has criticized the royal family. In September, following Queen Elizabeth's death, he condemned the U.S. media for its incessant coverage of the 96-year-old monarch's passing, which overshadowed the raid on Donald Trump's Florida residence that happened just days earlier.
“I mean, I get it,” Stern remarked back then. “The Queen was a nice lady, I guess. My whole life the Queen has been the same Queen and there’s a tradition there and she did her duty to her country, I get it, I get it, I get it but we have to get back to Trump, where those papers are that they found at Mar-a-Lago.”
Stern also weighed in on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's feud with the rest of the royal family after the release of the Netflix show Harry & Meghan and the renegade duke's memoir, Spare. “They come off like such whiny b------,” Stern commented in January. “I have to tell you, man, I just don’t get it.”
