It seems that Prince Harry has taken steps to mend his strained relationships within the royal family, beginning with a secret meeting with King Charles III.

According to an insider, the father-son pair briefly met in March when Harry visited London for a court appearance. "After that, the king finally started taking his son’s calls again," the source claimed, adding that several phone conversations followed between the two.

"Charles strongly believes blood is thicker than water. And deep down, Harry loves his dad," the insider continued. The relationship between the two has been strained since Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, decided to step back from their senior royal duties in 2020.

In addition to their controversial decision, Harry and Meghan have made headlines for their interviews, Netflix docuseries, and Harry's memoir, Spare, which have criticized royal family members.

Despite the improvement in his relationship with King Charles III before the May 6 coronation, Harry has yet to reconcile with his brother, Prince William, and sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.

"Kate thinks Meghan turned Harry into a monster, and William can’t stand his brother," royal expert Nick Bullen told a news outlet, adding that Harry "will be nervous about how the family react to him" upon his return.

Royal correspondent Omid Scobie pointed out that since the release of Harry's tell-all in January, communication has been maintained between Harry and Charles, while there has been "stone-cold silence" between Harry and William.

Harry won't have much time to mend relationships following the coronation, as he plans to return to the U.S. just two hours after the ceremony. His eagerness to get back to his wife and children is driven by his son Archie's fourth birthday, which falls on the same day.

Last month, Buckingham Palace announced that while Harry would attend his father's coronation, "The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet."
