After six years together, Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn have ended their relationship, with sources revealing the true reason behind the breakup.
According to a source who spoke with Life & Style, 32-year-old actor Alwyn's reluctance to commit was the primary cause of the split. "How long was she supposed to wait for a ring?" the source asks. "All Taylor wanted was for Joe to propose, but he just wouldn't." Swift's global fame also contributed to the breakup, as Alwyn reportedly struggled with the limelight.
"Joe is very shy and never liked all of the attention that came with dating one of the most popular singers in the world," the source adds. "It wasn't Taylor's fault; he never blamed her. He just didn't like having to be on all of the time."
Despite the heartbreak, the 33-year-old singer-songwriter is focusing on moving forward. Swift was seen on April 10 leaving Via Carota, a New York City hotspot, after having dinner with close friend and producer Jack Antonoff and his fiancée, Margaret Qualley. "Taylor would never want anyone to feel sorry for her, especially her fans," the source says. "This is life. People break up. She will survive."
As for Swift's readiness to re-enter the dating scene, the source claims it's too soon. "This wasn't just some whirlwind romance," the source shares. "Taylor loved Joe with all her heart. It's going to take her a long time to heal."
In other news, Tom Sandoval was reportedly upset when Tom Schwartz appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen to discuss the details of Sandoval's affair with Raquel Leviss. A source close to Sandoval, 40, said, "It was truly insane TV and made for an even more insane phone call after. Sandoval told Schwartz to stop talking about him — or else!"
