Prince Harry is allegedly set to sit ten rows behind the rest of the royal family during King Charles' coronation next month, according to an insider.
This unexpected development comes just days after the Duke of Sussex confirmed he would attend his father's coronation on May 6. A royal source has revealed that Prince Harry will be seated far from the other royals during the event.
Furthermore, reports indicate that Prince Harry will not remain in the UK after the coronation but will instead return to California to be with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children.
“There is no chance of a reconciliation anytime soon, I’m afraid – I think he will get a very icy reception from the Windsors,” said former royal butler Paul Burrell, as reported by The Sun.
“He is coming to put his foot in the door and he is coming because his father wants him to be there,” Burrell continued. “His father will be delighted that both his sons will be there to witness this incredible day in his life.”
“But Harry is not going to hang around,” Burrell added.
While King Charles' coronation is slated for May 6, the celebrations are expected to continue for another three days. However, Harry plans to attend only the crowning ceremony.
As previously reported, the king's coronation will be the first time Harry sees both his father and Prince William since the release of his explosive memoir, Spare, earlier this year.
In spite of the controversies surrounding his memoir, a royal insider claimed that Harry is still "desperate to come back for the coronation and spend quality time with his family."
Meghan Markle and the couple's children, Archie and Lilibet, will not accompany Harry to the coronation. Instead, they will reportedly remain in California to celebrate Archie's fourth birthday, which coincides with King Charles' coronation on May 6.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have also dismissed claims that Meghan is skipping the coronation due to correspondence between her and Charles concerning alleged racism within Buckingham Palace.
