Gwyneth Paltrow recently emerged victorious in a ski crash trial, but the 50-year-old actress is reportedly still facing criticism in the public eye.
Paltrow was awarded a symbolic $1 in damages after a court dismissed retired optometrist Terry Sanderson's claim that the Sliding Doors actress crashed into him on the slopes near Park City, Utah, resulting in lasting injuries.
A Hollywood publicist remarked, cited by National Enquirer, “She may not have been wrong in this case, but her comments and behavior make her look more tone-deaf than ever!” Despite the evidence supporting Paltrow's side, the actress faced backlash on social media for her peculiar courtroom conduct, wardrobe choices, and seemingly out-of-touch comments.
When questioned about the "losses" she experienced following the accident, Paltrow casually responded, "Well, we lost half a day of skiing." Social media users were quick to criticize her for her seemingly flippant remark.
One commenter questioned, “Wonder why she went to trial. This makes her look like a worse person than we all ever imagined.”
Paltrow, known for her wellness brand Goop, has previously faced scrutiny for running a company worth $430 million with allegations of a "toxic workplace" environment and promoting products with dubious health benefits.
An insider commented, “Gwyneth may have been in the right for once in her life, but she was all wrong to let the public see how self-obsessed she really is!” As Paltrow's courtroom victory does little to salvage her image in the public's eyes, the actress may need to focus on improving her reputation outside the legal arena.
