Kourtney Kardashian Barker and Travis Barker chose to hold a second wedding ceremony in California to accommodate two family members who were unable to attend their extravagant celebration in Portofino, Italy.
The couple initially tied the knot in a headline-grabbing Las Vegas ceremony at the One Love Wedding Chapel on April 4, 2022. In their "Death Do Us Part Kourtney & Travis" wedding special, which premiered on Hulu on Thursday, they explained that their decision to hold a second ceremony at a Santa Barbara courthouse was significantly influenced by family considerations.
Kourtney, 43, disclosed that her grandmother, Mary Jo "MJ" Campbell, and Travis's father, Randy Barker, were present at the courthouse ceremony since they were unable to travel to the planned overseas wedding.
Kourtney explained, "My grandma and your dad being there as the only people there because they couldn't fly to Italy."
To which Travis, 47, added, "That was as traditional as everybody else's wedding could've been. Everything, the car, convertible Cadillac, cans on the car, Santa Barbara was special."
The couple later posted a series of black-and-white photos on Instagram, showing them hand-in-hand descending the courthouse stairs and posing with Randy and Mary Jo.
After their courthouse ceremony on May 15, Kourtney and Travis obtained the necessary legal documents for their Italian wedding.
One week later, the couple exchanged vows again in a lavish Portofino ceremony, surrounded by red roses, family, and friends, including their six children. Kourtney has three children with her ex, Scott Disick: Mason, 13, Penelope, 10, and Reign, 8. Travis has a stepdaughter, Atiana, 24, and two children, Landon, 19, and Alabama, 17, from his marriage to Shanna Moakler, which lasted from 2004 to 2008.
During their wedding special, Kourtney and Travis looked back on their three weddings, sharing "private and personal footage" from the ceremonies, which were filled with touching moments.
The teaser trailer for the special provided a sneak peek into Kourtney and Travis's nuptials, as well as the events leading up to their weekend-long Italian celebration.
"Can you believe we got married three times?" the Poosh mogul asked, to which the Blink-182 drummer replied, "It's like choosing a child. I can't pick the best one!"
"Death Do Us Part Kourtney & Travis" is now available for streaming on Hulu.
