Prince Andrew is allegedly refusing to leave the Royal Lodge despite King Charles’ insistence that he no longer belongs to his former home.
In its March 20 issue, Globe claimed that Prince Andrew doesn’t want to relocate to Frogmore Cottage because he thinks the property is so much smaller than the Royal Lodge.
“Andrew is bellicose and arrogant – and threatening he won’t abandon the 98-acre estate without a fight. He’s even talking about dragging His Highness into court and baring all the family’s dirty linen,” the source said.
The source also claimed that Prince Andrew’s refusal to leave the Royal Lodge is just another one of his attempts to try and get money from the royal family. After all, he’s been broke since he stepped down from his duties in 2019.
“The duke of effectively broke and without his royal titles, his ability to earn is severely curtailed. Andrew insists he’s spent millions upgrading the Royal Lodge and is demanding reimbursement from the Crown if he’s evicted. But there’s no hard evidence he spent a penny on the property. Charles is not inclined to play his game,” the source said.
According to the source, evicting Prince Andrew from the Royal Lodge is not the first major move that the King Charles did since he became monarch. He also banned his younger brother from setting foot at Buckingham Palace. And he removed the Duke of York’s $300,000 annual allowance.
So, now Prince Andrew is at risk of losing it all that’s why he’s refusing to leave the Royal Lodge.
However, not all of the tabloid’s claims are accurate. There’s no proof that King Charles is trying to evict Prince Andrew from the Royal Lodge. And even if he is, he is only doing this because it’s more practical.
Since Prince Andrew’s daughters no longer live with him, there’s no reason for him to reside in such a big property. King Charles also intends to relocate Prince Andrew to Frogmore Cottage, which is a cozier property that he could share with his ex-wife.
However, nothing has been finalized as long late. After all, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are still the owners of Frogmore Cottage until June. From there, royal fans would know what will really happen to Prince Andrew.
