Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have allegedly humiliated themselves on multiple occasions. But they are seemingly still bracing themselves for so much more than what is to come.
In its March 17 issue, Closer UK claimed that Prince Harry and Markle were most shocked by King Charles’ decision to ask them to vacate Frogmore Cottage. After all, the property was given to them as a gift by Queen Elizabeth.
“Meghan and Harry were shell-shocked over the Frogmore decision, it’s yet another slap in the face that’s caused them major embarrassment. Frogmore was a real safe haven and a much-loved bolt hole which they’d taken a lot of trouble to decorate and style to their own tastes,” the source said.
The insider added that Frogmore Cottage also provided the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with great comfort because it served as their home for a couple of years.
“They took great comfort from knowing it was there for them and their family, and really didn’t believe Charles would humiliate them like this. It blindsided them,” the source said.
According to the source, Prince Harry and Markle are laying low for now because they don’t want the world to know that they are affected by what King Charles did. But behind closed doors, they see it as a sign that the royal family is cutting them off for good.
“They’re still holding their cards close to their chests about whether or not to attend the coronation – whether it’s together or Harry by himself – but if they do it’ll almost certainly be a whistle-stop trip. Publicly, they’re shrugging the eviction off, but behind the scenes, it stings and feels like further proof that the senior royals are moving to marginalize the from the fold while slamming the door on an eventual reconciliation,” the source said.
However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. Even though it’s true that Prince Harry and Markle have been asked to leave Frogmore Cottage, it’s not true that they felt humiliated because of it.
It is important to note that the Sussexes no longer work for the royal family so they are not entitled to keep a property. And they do not also frequent the United Kingdom anymore for the couple to own a house there.
