Selena Gomez is happily dating Drew Taggart but her family and friends couldn’t help but worry about the singer.
In its Feb. 13 issue, Us Weekly claimed that Gomez and Taggart are smitten with each other especially since their relationship is still in its early stages.
But a source claimed that Gomez’s family and friends can’t help but think that Taggart jumped into a relationship with the singer immediately after he ended his romance with Steve Jobs’ daughter Eve. As such, they think that he could do the same to Gomez someday.
“Selena and Drew are moving quite quickly. He’s only just come out of another relationship. They are having a lot of fun together,” the source said.
But the source also revealed that Taggart just broke up with Eve after Christmas. And then he and Gomez started hanging out weeks later in January.
“Drew and Eve broke things off after Christmas. They were in Aspen together over the holidays then went their separate ways,” the source said.
On top of this, there are also some concerns regarding Taggart’s party lifestyle.
“Drew likes to party and not everyone in Selena’s world is convinced it’s a good idea for her to get close to him. There’s a fear among some of her friends that this could spell disaster, and she should pump the brakes,” the source said.
But at the end of the day, the source insisted that Gomez knows exactly what she’s getting into. And unlike when she was much younger, she now has more control over her decisions. And she can now also resist temptations.
However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. It’s not true that Gomez’s family and friends are worried about her and her relationship with Taggart.
Even if the timeline of Taggart and Eve’s split seems close to the former getting to know Gomez, it is possible that the exes were already having so many issues before they ended their romance.
It’s not also true that Taggart could be a bad influence on Gomez. After all, the singer is already an adult and she can make decisions on her own.
By the looks of it, the tabloid is just creating drama where there is none for click bait purposes. At the end of the day, the most important thing is that Gomez is having fun.
