Princess Eugenie is sharing an insight into motherhood and how it has impacted her since welcoming her first child with Jack Brooksbank.
Hello! Magazine reported that the royal-born Princess shed a light on the matter during an appearance at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Ahead of her son’s second birthday, she is said to have revealed how the arrival of her child led her to several changes in an effort to educate him on the importance of protecting the environment.
The Princess of York reportedly told Gail Whiteman of Arctic Humanity and Axel Threlfall of Reuters that every decision they now have to make “has to be for” their child, for “what he’s going to be able to look at and do,” and for “how he’s going to live his life.”
Princess Eugenie also shared in the exchange that “as a mother, you all of a sudden, totally you change, your hormones change, everything changes. Like now I’m scared of flying and things life that and I would never be before,” as per the outlet.
Earlier in the engagement, the royal-born Princess is said to have noted that her and Jack Brooksbank’s son “is going to be an activist from two years old, which is in a couple of days. So, he, everything is for them.”
She reportedly continued, “I talked to Peter Thomson, the UN Special Envoy for Oceans and all he says to me is that I do this for my grandchildren. And that’s the same.”
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, who first made their pregnancy known in September 2020, officially became parents in February 2021.
Buckingham Palace said in a statement, which E! News included in a report at the time, that “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie was safely delivered of a son today, 9th February 2021, at 0855hrs at The Portland Hospital,” adding that “Jack Brooksbank was present” and their child “weighs 8lbs 1oz.”
The official announcement also shares that members of the British Royal Family, including Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, and the parents of the couple, “have been informed and are delighted with the news.”
The Princess of York and Jack Brooksbank tied the knot in October 2018. They had their wedding at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle months after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had theirs at the same venue.
Elsewhere in the report from Hello! Magazine, published Tuesday, it said Princess Eugenie further shared how her concerns for climate change have affected her life at home with her son.
As noted, she revealed in the same engagement that they “have no plastic” at home before adding, “we try to as much as possible have no plastic and I’m trying to teach him that. But it’s a battle.”
