A source is reportedly sharing an insight into the status of the relationship between Prince Harry and Prince William following the release of “Harry & Meghan.”
Speaking exclusively to Us Weekly for its newest issue, an insider claimed that the Prince of Wales was “hoping” he and the Duke of Sussex “could move on after the CBS interview,” which hit the small screens in March 2021. However, it is said that the rift between the royal siblings has “heightened” following the former working royal’s documentary series on Netflix.
The source explained to the publication that the future King is “disappointed” with his younger brother “for portraying him and the [royal] family in a cynical light.”
As added, the youngest son of King Charles III “airing his dirty laundry has only heightened the conflict between the two brothers,” and it “resulted in them taking a step backwards.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made several claims in their documentary series, “Harry & Meghan,” which dropped in two volumes on Netflix earlier this month.
The publication, in its report published Wednesday, noted some of the claims the former working royals shared in the material.
It said that in one part of the docuseries, the Duke of Sussex recalled the time when the Prince of Wales shouted at him in front of their father, King Charles III, and their grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, as he discussed his and Meghan Markle’s plans for their future following their exit announcement earlier in 2020.
The outlet quoted the royal-born Prince from the Netflix title, saying, “It was terrifying to have my brother scream and shout at me, and my father say things that just simply weren’t true, and my grandmother quietly sit there, and sort of take it all in.”
Since the release of “Harry & Meghan,” reports noted that members of the British Royal Family, alongside Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace, have yet to make official comments on the material, including the claims made by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Meanwhile, with regard to the public reception toward the Netflix docuseries, Express UK recently held a poll, asking its readers whether their opinions of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have improved since the release of “Harry & Meghan.”
The publication said the poll, which ran from December 16 to December 20, obtained 22,391 responses, noting that 92 percent of the data population answered “no.” It specified that 20,616 individuals voted that the docuseries had not increased the former working royals’ standing.
The outlet shared in the same piece published Wednesday that only seven percent of total participants, or 1,646 people, said “yes,” adding that they now held Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in higher regard.
