Michelle Obama is honoring Stephen “tWitch” Boss, who passed away earlier this week.
On Wednesday, the 58-year-old former First Lady of the United States took her tribute to Instagram, where she posted a picture of the former “The Ellen Show” DJ with his wife and their three children.
In the caption, Obama shared that she “was heartbroken to learn about the passing” of the personality, whom she said she “got to know over the years through my Let’s Move! initiative and visits to ‘The Ellen Show.’”
She also described Boss as “an incredible force- someone who radiated kindness and positivity,” adding that he “made sure that people around him could feel it, too.”
Michelle Obama continued in the post, “We felt his spirit in every dance, every DJ set, every piece of creativity that he brought to life.” She also stated that her “heart goes out” to Stephen “tWitch” Boss’s wife, Allison Holker Boss, and their three children.
The former First Lady ended the tribute, urging anyone who is “struggling” and in need of someone to talk to to “call or text the suicide and crisis hotline by dialing 988,” after pointing out that “there is always someone ready to help.”
People, in its report covering the penned tribute on social media, recalled that Michelle Obama and Stephen “tWitch” Boss shared the stage at the 2015 White House Easter Egg Roll.
It noted in its piece, published Wednesday, that the two personalities danced on stage alongside Travis Wall, also a professional dancer, to mark the fifth anniversary of the Let’s Move! initiative.
The former First Lady first launched the initiative in 2010, with dedicated aims of solving problems relating to childhood obesity.
As added, they performed the #GimmeFive dance, which is said to be a dance developed for the occasion.
Stephen “tWitch” Boss passed away on Tuesday, and the official cause of death has been ruled a suicide by a gunshot wound to the head, according to Page Six.
The publication also reported that, per the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, there were “no signs of foul play,” adding that the case has been officially closed.
The passing of the former house DJ of “The Ellen Show” first made news earlier on Wednesday. Allison Holker Boss, the personality’s wife of nine years, confirmed the matter in an exclusive statement shared with People.
In the statement, she said, “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us.”
She continued that her husband, with whom she tied the knot in December 2013, “lit up every room he stepped into,” adding that “he valued family, friends and community above all and leading with love and light was everything to him.”
Allison Holker Boss also deemed Stephen “tWitch” Boss the “backbone” of their family in the same statement. She noted, as well, that he is “the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans" and went on to sing praises for his "legacy" and "positive impact."
In the end, she asked “for privacy during this difficult time” for herself and their three children.
She subsequently concluded the statement, saying, “Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you.”
