John Travolta is allegedly struggling to cope with the death of his good friend, Kirstie Alley.
According to Woman’s Day, Travolta is crushed because Alley’s death brings back tragic memories of his other loved ones' passing.
“John is crushed. It is the worst possible news and he is barely coping,” the source said.
The insider also insisted that Travolta has been spiraling out of control since Alley’s death.
“John can be forgiven for looking heavenward and asking what he’s done to deserve losing so many people he loved. He’s trying his best to focus on the magnificent light she brought to their lives,” the source said.
Alley died earlier this month following her years-long battle with colon cancer. An official statement announcing her demise was released by her family thereafter.
“She was surrounded by her closest family and fought with great strength, leaving us with a certainty of her never-ending joy of living and whatever adventures lie ahead. She leaves us inspired to live life to the fullest, just as she did,” the statement read.
And on his Instagram account, Travolta made sure to pay his respects to Alley.
“Kirstie was one of the most special relationships I’ve ever had. I love you Kirstie. I know we will see each other again,” he wrote.
Even though Travolta and Alley are very close, it’s not true that the former is spiraling out of control following the latter’s death. Travolta has not been seen crying following Alley’s passing and he hasn’t also stopped living his life.
It seems the tabloid just connected Alley’s death with the death of Travolta’s loved ones. However, it’s obvious that these are different because Travolta previously dealt with the passing of his child and his wife.
Travolta’s wife, Kelly Preston died in 2020 following her battle with cancer. Months after her passing, Travolta spoke with Esquire Spain about his grief.
“I learned that mourning someone, and dealing with grief is something very personal. Mourning is individual and experiencing your own journey is what can lead you to heal. Your grief is different from another person's journey. The most important thing you can do to help another person when they are in mourning is to allow them to live through it and not complicate it with yours,” he said (via Entertainment Tonight).
