King Charles is allegedly putting his foot down after watching Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix docuseries.
New Idea, in its Dec. 19 issue, claimed that King Charles is taking a firmer approach when it comes to dealing with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. After all, he was quite lenient with them when Queen Elizabeth was still alive. But now that he’s the monarch, he is left with no other choice but to take matters into his own hands.
“Harry appears hell-bent on destroying his family and everything they hold dear. While the queen was alive, Charles was forced to be more lenient than he would have liked about the Harry and Meghan problem. Now, dealing with it is his job alone, and he will simply not stand for them making a mockery of the monarchy while still profiting from their titles,” the source said.
The source added that King Charles has become more determined than ever to strip Prince Harry and Markle of their royal titles.
According to the insider, King Charles knows that he will get enough support to have the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s titles’ removed because the parliament agreed to give Princess Anne and Prince Edward additional roles when he requested for it.
“When parliament quickly agreed to examine the issue, he realized he may have enough support to start the next phase – having an MP introduce a member’s bill to the king the power to strip the Sussexes of their Dukedom. And after what he saw on Netflix, this day couldn’t come sooner,” the source said.
However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. It’s not true that King Charles knows what Prince Harry and Markle said in Harry & Meghan. After all, more reliable royal experts claimed that the royal family did not watch the docuseries.
It’s not also true that King Charles wants to strip Prince Harry and Markle of their royal titles. If he wanted to do this, he would’ve already done it a long time ago.
It is also important to note that even Sarah Ferguson still uses her Duchess of York title even though she’s no longer part of the royal family. And the same goes for Prince Andrew, who is also known as the Duke of York even if he stepped down from his duties years ago.
