Gwyneth Paltrow is allegedly being increasingly paranoid about her health.
National Enquirer, in its Dec. 19 issue, claimed that Paltrow couldn’t help but think that she could be stricken with the same type of cancer that killed her dad in 2002.
“Gwyneth is carrying a ton of anxiety over this,” the source said.
Paltrow’s dad battled oral cancer for years before he succumbed to the illness. And the actress’s mom endured a two-year battle with adenoid cystic carcinoma.
“Gwyneth has learned gene mutations that cause oral cancer can be passed from parent to child, and it might well be a matter of when – and not if – she suffers the same fate. Her family history presents a clear, inherited risk,” the source said.
According to the source, Paltrow also struggled to come to terms with the fact that her parents hid their cancer diagnosis from her for many years. And she only learned about what was going on while they were already undergoing treatment.
And because of all this, Paltrow has allegedly been getting regular checkups and tests to stop herself from worrying too much.
“So, if she gets an awful diagnosis, it may come with enough time to treat it and beat it,” the source said.
However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. It’s not true that Paltrow is stressing over the possibility that she could get cancer one day.
If she has concerns, the actress would’ve already consulted with her doctors. And this will definitely ease her worries.
And the fact that Paltrow herself has not directly opened up about her alleged fears means that the tabloid just made up this story for clickbait purposes.
Meanwhile, Paltrow also made headlines recently amid claims that she’s upset with Matthew Perry for detailing their fling in his memoir.
According to New Idea, Paltrow never denied having an affair with Perry. But since things did not necessarily progress between them, she didn’t want the Friends star to even mention it in his memoir.
However, Paltrow was not able to stop Perry from sharing his accounts in his book. And he did the same thing to Julia Roberts and Jennifer Aniston, who also, allegedly, became upset with him.
But it is important to note that the three female actors never reacted to Perry’s memoir directly.
