A publication contended last year that Niall Horan and Selena Gomez have “finally” started dating. However, the Horan has slammed such rumors calling them nonsense and stupid.

Last year, an outlet alleged Horan and Gomez went a step ahead from having a platonic relationship to being a couple. It was also claimed that the duo happened to reconnect at the wedding of their mutual friend.

The outlet went to the extent of dubbing the songstress a “Bad Liar” and even stated that she had lied about dating Horan in the past. The magazine also wrote that while they have “always been close”, their relationship changed. 

A dubious insider told the publication that they had been lately chatting more than before. The so-called insider even stated the One Direction alum has been highly supportive of Gomez.

Both of them were indeed present at Courtney Barry’s wedding who is their mutual friend. However, that is hardly adequate to substantiate the magazine’s claim that Niall Horan and Selena Gomez had been dating. 

Gossip Cop mentioned that they contacted a mutual friend of the two singers who confirmed that the story of them dating was inaccurate. Also, just before the story was published, Horan clarified the speculations about his alleged romance with the songstress.

He clearly said he was not dating anyone then. The singer stated that his focus was more on his job at that time. Horan also added that someone does not “go out of the way” to look for a girlfriend. 

The singer said so in an interview given to Australia’s Hit 90.9 radio station. He again addressed his relationship rumors with Gomez recently on The Kylie and Jackie O Show on KIIS 106.5, Daily Mail reports 

There have been rumors of their romance when Gomez was seen leaving his home last year. However, Horan explained that she was at his place to attend a group barbecue. 

The singer recalled how a stupid article published a story about their linkup after her visit. He stated that there were around 15 other friends in his house for the barbecue on that day. Further, the singer dubbed the linkup story as “absolute useless nonsense.”

Rumors of their alleged linkup have surfaced multiple times. Speculations were rife that the pair was romancing in Oct. last year after Niall Horan was spotted in an Instagram picture with his arm around Selena Gomez’s shoulders during a group dinner. Insiders have also clarified repeatedly that the pair is not going around.
