Kim Kardashian said making a difference does not require going viral or having a massive following on social media. She believes that everyone “has the power” to do so regardless of their online activities.
The Mirror noted that the 42-year-old reality star shared her thoughts on the subject during a speech she gave at the 2022 Baby2Baby Gala in Los Angeles. It comes after she won the Giving Tree Award, which the outlet said to be a “coveted trophy” given annually to women who are committed to helping children in need.
In her acceptance speech, Kardashian talked about making a difference in the world.
The outlet, in its report covering the matter, quoted the SKIMS founder from her address, stating in part, “You don’t have to break the internet or have millions of followers to make a difference. Everyone in this room has the power.”
It continues, “Our support is needed more now than ever, to close the necessity gap and join the fight for change.”
Kim Kardashian has reportedly worked with Baby2Baby for the last ten years. She is also said to have vowed she would continue to use her voice and resources to share in the organization’s mission, bringing “fairness, equality, and justice to so many children who have been deprived of access to basic essentials.”
The publication noted elsewhere in its report, published Sunday, that the “Kardashians” star donned a form-fitting pink dress at the lavish gala, which took place in Los Angeles on Saturday.
It also stated that mother Kris Jenner and sister Kylie Jenner accompanied her, alongside publicist Tracy Romulus, adding that the personalities shared snaps and clips from the event on social media.
Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian also thanked her parents in the same acceptance speech.
Us Weekly, in its report published Sunday, shared that the reality star expressed her gratitude to Kris Jenner “for showing me what it means to put her children and caring for others first.” She is also said to have referred to her mother as the “backbone” and “heartbeat” of their family.
As for her late father, Robert Kardashian, who passed away in 2003, Kardashian thanked him for teaching her “compassion, gratitude, and the importance of using this blessed life that we have been given to bless others.”
Earlier in the speech, Kim Kardashian captured the brief remarks of Tyler Perry, who presented the award, and thanked him for his encouragement, according to the Daily Mail.
The SKIMS founder is said to have also talked about justice and what it means to her, telling her audience that advocating for it is a “deep passion” of hers.
Kardashian reportedly continued that justice for her “has so many meanings,” although, “it ultimately comes down to what is fair, what is right and what leads our world better - especially for our children.”
