Priyanka Chopra recently engaged in a live chat on Instagram with Dr. Maria Van Kerkhove and Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus from WHO. The actress asked these physicians some key questions about the pandemic coronavirus

Actress Priyanka Chopra participated in a live conversation with two doctors from the World Health Organization. Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the General Director of the organization and Dr. Maria Van Kerkhove, the Technical Lead for the virus from WHO, interacted with her on Tuesday.

Chopra shared her chat on Instagram, which surely busted many myths concerning Covid-19. The actress has gone on quarantine in New York for some weeks now, NDTV reports. She asked certain pertinent questions sent by her fans on Covid-19 via an IGTV live video.

The UNICEF Goodwill ambassador thanked these two doctors in her Instagram caption. She urged her followers and fans to donate to the organization so that the curve can be flattened.  She also requested everyone to stay at home and be safe and responsible.

The actor started her chat by mentioning that she would take up queries sent by the general public. However, Nick Jonas, her husband had the first question to shoot. The Hindustan Times reports that Jonas said while he suffers from type-1 diabetes, his wife is asthmatic and he is worried about their well-being.

Incidentally, the coronavirus is considered to be even worse for people who are ailing from pre-existing conditions.  However, Dr. Maria pointed out that they were doing the right thing by not stepping outside their home. She indicated that contrary to what many young people feel, they “are not invincible.”

Chopra then started asking questions that were submitted by her fans. She asked the doctors whether the deadly virus can spread through the air or not.  To this, Dr. Maria clearly clarified that the coronavirus is certainly not airborne. However, she mentioned that it could remain alive on surfaces.

The doctor added though that it does not signify that a person can be infected with the disease simply by coming in contact with an infected surface. She requested all to adhere to hygiene protocols and wash their hands properly.

Dr. Maria was also asked whether a person who has recuperated from the disease can get it again or not. She responded that people who have already got the infection once may develop immunity from the virus. However, adequate data is yet to be collected to substantiate this theory.

Priyanka Chopra concluded this interesting conversation by showing her concerns about countries like India where many people earn less. She also requested people to stop spreading panic about the necessities.
