News of Aaron Carter’s passing shocked many fans and followers across the globe. But, he reportedly “made peace” with his brother, Nick Carter, before his untimely death at the age of 34.
A rep for the “I Want Candy” artist told HollywoodLife on Monday that the two brothers were in a good place before the tragedy.
As stated, “he had made amends and made peace with Nick,” adding that “[Aaron] was on the path to making amends with so many people in his life,” according to Page Six.
The rep is said to have continued to HL that the former child pop star “was happy about this because he loved his brother.” Moreover, he reportedly “looked up to Nick in so many ways,” and “they were trying to make everything good.”
Page Six, in its report covering the matter, noted that a rep for the Backstreet Boys member did not immediately respond to its request for comment.
HollywoodLife recalled elsewhere in its report, published Monday, that Aaron Carter and Nick Carter had a complicated relationship. It noted that the sibling rivalry dates back to 2006 when the two engaged in a physical altercation on an episode of their reality show, “House of Carters.”
In 2019, the Backstreet Boys member announced that he and their sister, Angel [Carter], sought a restraining order against the “Aaron’s Party” artist. As reported, Nick alleged that their brother had confessed to having “thoughts and intentions of killing my pregnant wife and unborn child.”
The publication later noted that Aaron denied the accusations, stating in part of a now-deleted post that he has “never had thoughts of causing anyone pain, let alone taking anyone’s life.”
On Sunday, Nick Carter paid a tribute to Aaron Carter on Instagram. He posted a series of photos from their childhood and wrote a lengthy caption, honoring his brother a day after his passing.
In the post, the “I Want It That Way” singer shared that he and the former child pop star “have had a complicated relationship.” But, even so, he stated that his “love for him has never ever faded,” noting that his “heart is broken.”
Nick also said in the caption that “addiction and mental illness is the real villain.”
In the end, the artist asserted he would miss Aaron “more than anyone will ever know.” He added, “I love you Chizz. Now you can finally have the peace you could never find here on earth…. God, please take care of my baby brother.”
