Prince William and Kate Middleton recently changed their name on Instagram.
In the past, the royal couple’s Instagram name was the same as their account name – Kensington Royal. But they recently changed their Instagram name to Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
On the Royally Obsessed podcast, royal commentators Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie shared their thoughts on why they think the couple changed their Instagram name.
Bowie said that the couple must have decided to change their Instagram name because it is what shows up in direct messages and not the account name.
The royal commentator said that she encountered the same problem that’s why she recently changed her name on Instagram.
Fiorito said that after the change, Prince William and Middleton’s direct messages now show their titles and not Kensington Royal.
According to New Idea, the changing of the couple’s Instagram name also gave their account a more personal touch. Their fans also commended Prince William and Middleton for changing their Instagram name even though it seemed confusing at first.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge created their Instagram in 2014. At present, they have 11.8 million followers. Prince William and Middleton are also following 102 accounts include Princess Eugenie, Prince Andrew, Clarence House, and the royal family’s Instagram account.
Prince William also made headlines this week after eagle-eyed royal fans noticed that he actually has a scar on his forehead.
In the BBC documentary about the Duke of Cambridge, football, and mental health, the interviewer asked Prince William how he got the scar on his forehead.
The dad of three revealed that he once got hit by a golf club while playing the sport with one of his friends. Prince William also said that some people immediately notice his scar while others don’t realize that he has one.
Middleton’s husband also revealed that he calls the mark on his forehead Harry Potter scar because it glows at times.
Meanwhile, Middleton also has a dominant scar on the left side of her head. However, it’s harder to see her scar because it is hidden underneath her hairline.
In 2011, royal fans saw Middleton’s scar for the first time. And rumors swirled that she got the mark from wearing hair extensions.
However, Kensington Palace immediately debunked the claims. A spokesperson said that the scar is related to a childhood operation.
A surgeon, who was not related to treating Middleton’s scar, told Daily Mail that the Duchess of Cambridge must have gotten it after a minor procedure.
