The highly anticipated memoir of Prince Harry has reportedly obtained an early 2023 release. It comes after months of an alleged delay following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
The New York Times reported that the memoir, which is said to provide an “intimate” and “heartfelt” look into the royal-born Prince’s life, will drop on January 10, 2023. It cited industry executives as its sources in its report published Wednesday.
People, in its report covering the claim, recalled that Penguin Random House announced the collaboration with the Duke of Sussex in July 2021.
It stated, however, that the publishing house did not immediately respond to its request for comment concerning the book's alleged release date. As for the former working royal’s camp, his rep is said to have declined to release a statement.
The magazine continued that the memoir will likely cover everything from Prince Harry’s life. The material is reportedly expected to feature the royal’s childhood, as well as his time in the military and his current life as a husband to Meghan Markle and father to their two children.
In the same piece, published Wednesday, the outlet noted that the royal-born Prince previously released a statement about the memoir, saying he wrote the material “not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become.”
The Duke of Sussex also shared in the said statement that he was “deeply grateful for the opportunity to share” the things he has learned in his life, adding that he was “excited,” as well, for the public to read an “accurate and wholly truthful” account of his life.
Reports previously claimed that the memoir of Prince Harry initially had a November release date. However, it would reportedly be pushed back out of respect for Queen Elizabeth II following her passing earlier in September.
An insider told Page Six at the time that the former British Monarch’s death “was something that was always speculated on when we started working on the book.” Accordingly, it was stated that there was “no way the book can come out this year.”
There were claims, as well, stating that the Duke of Sussex would want to describe his feelings about his grandmother’s passing in his book. One publishing source alleged to the same outlet that there had been multiple edits with JR Moehringer, who serves as the royal’s ghostwriter.
Tom Bower, who authored “Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors,” also spoke to Page Six with regard to Prince Harry’s memoir. He told the publication that there had been talks in London claiming the royal would include “a chapter on the [Queen’s] funeral” in his material.
Elsewhere in the interview, published earlier in October, the royal biographer alleged that members of the British Royal Family were “hugely nervous” about the Duke of Sussex’s memoir, adding that the upcoming title is a “time bomb.”
