Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are allegedly planning to ditch Montecito very soon.
According to Us Weekly, Markle and Prince Harry’s priority has always been their two children, Archie and Lilibet. And this is why they are eyeing buying a new property in Santa Barbara.
The couple’s would-be neighborhood is reportedly quieter and safer for their family especially since a lot of people know where their house is located in Montecito.
With their upcoming move, Prince Harry and Markle plan to keep their new residence as private as possible.
“They love their home, but they’re excited to live somewhere that will be even more private and suited to their needs. This new place will offer them better security and it’ll be a great place for the kids to grow up,” the source said.
However, the property that the couple is eyeing allegedly costs $22 million. So, Prince Harry and Markle are also worried that the whopping amount would raise eyebrows, especially among their critics.
“But Harry and Meghan have made a lot of money since leaving The Firm. They’ve been very careful with their investments and are in a good position to make this move,” the source said.
The rumors about Prince Harry and Markle selling their Montecito home and relocating to Santa Barbara first surfaced earlier this week.
A source claimed that Markle fell in love with Montecito when she first visited the neighborhood as a teenager. However, there’s also no denying the fact that she always wanted to live in Los Angeles.
“Meghan visited Montecito in her teens and fell in love with the picturesque scenery and stunning architecture. Moving there was always an option, but to begin with, she and Harry wanted to give Los Angeles a shot. Unfortunately, Harry absolutely hated it—the timing was so wrong amid the [coronavirus] pandemic and they lacked privacy,” the source said.
However, it seems that the back and forth is what proved that Prince Harry and Markle’s alleged plans to relocate have not yet been finalized.
After all, no matter how hard the couple tries to keep their relocation a secret, it would still get leaked to the press one way or another. As of late, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex still reside in Montecito and no photos of the couple moving have been released online.
