Hailey Beiber and Justin Bieber recently threaten a doctor who falsely claimed that the supermodel underwent an operation. Dr. Daniel Barrett, a practicing plastic surgeon from Beverly Hills got warned by the couple because of the claims he made using TikTok. There was a "cease and desist" notice issued as per the reports.
As per the letter, Dr. Barrett used her image, likeness, and name to advertise his practice of plastic surgery commercially. On top of that, he spread false rumors about Mrs. Bieber been under the knife to perform plastic surgery. Moreover, he also got accused of using the "Sorry" lyrics in that particular video which are protected by copyright law.
In the video, the doctor clearly has shown two photographs of Mrs. Bieber that were clicked years apart and asked the audience to pay attention to the little details on her face, especially the nose, and tell him what they think about it. He further adds his opinion by saying that he thinks it is impossible physically to get such drastic change in the nose without getting any help from a doctor.
Besides talking about Rhinoplasty, the doctor also mentioned about more features on her face that seem to have gone under the procedure such as skin tightening, genioplasty, jawline contouring, and also fillers in the lips and cheeks.
The legal team of Biebers mentioned in the letter about conscious and flagrant infringements of Mrs. Bieber has many violations such as misappropriation of likeness, name, persona, image used for commercial purposes without limitation. Additionally, they have stated about defamation, misrepresentation, false light, slander, trademark, copyright infringement, publicity rights, service mark, dilution, unfair competition, and interference.
Dr. Barrett has been warned about the "statutory damages for each willful infringement" and asked to give a statement publicly denying all his claims about Mrs. Bieber. He has also asked to delete all the posts that contain any unauthorized materials or references related to the couple.
However, Dr. Barrett doesn't seem to take a U-turn from his remake nor wish to delete the videos from TikTok — at least not now. Clarifying the idea behind posting this video, the surgeon said he wants to educate the views and want transparency about plastic surgery.
Sharing his opinion was the only reason to post this video and nothing against Hailey Bieber. Additionally, he said the video was shared on demand from his viewers who follow him for such information.
