Meghan Markle allegedly wants to be close to all the A-listers in Hollywood for her own benefit.
An unnamed source told Globe that her latest prospect was Jennifer Lopez because Markle has always been a huge fan of the Hustlers star.
For a time, the Duchess of Sussex exerted the effort to get to know Lopez really well, but this did not materialize because Ben Affleck’s wife decided to avoid her following her interview with Mariah Carey on Archetypes.
Throughout the years, there have been claims that Lopez and Carey are nemeses. So, Markle’s associations with that “Butterfly” singer did not sit well with Lopez.
“Meghan thought she and J.Lo really clicked on that double date in Miami, but there’s been little follow up and J.Lo didn’t even consider inviting the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to the wedding. In Jen’s eyes, Meghan is a C-lister who got lucky and can’t hold a candle to her and Ben – the true king and queen of Hollywood. This is embarrassing for Meghan and a blow to Harry, who’d love to build up his buddy club with Ben,” the source said.
The source also claimed that Lopez decided to end all associations with Prince Harry and Markle because she’s obsessed with her image. And she knows that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been getting bad raps from the press.
“J.Lo is one of the most image-obsessed people on the planet, and the brutal truth is that it’s not a good look to be hanging out with Meghan right now. She’ll play nice if they run into each other, but as far as being bosom buddies, it’s not gonna happen,” the source said.
However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. As of late, there’s no proof that Markle tried to be friends with Lopez but failed. And the fact that they weren’t invited to the couple’s wedding in Georgia proves that they are not friends at all.
Lopez has never commented on Prince Harry and Markle. And the last thing that she is expected to do is to react to Markle interviewing her rumored nemesis, Carey. In fact, it’s possible for Lopez to not have even heard of the interview at all.
