TV viewers of a certain age will remember Joshua Jackson’s turn as the romantic Pacey Witter on “Dawson’s Creek,” but now a new generation is going gaga over the heartthrob because of a scene of him in his underwear.

Jackson, 41, currently stars in the Hulu limited series “Little Fires Everywhere” as the husband to Reese Witherspoon’s character. In one scene, he is shown wearing a tight pair of white briefs, drawing a lot of attention from people online.

Reactions on Twitter, for instance, credit Jackson’s underwear scene for “keeping me going in this lockdown.” Another said seeing Jackson in those tighty-whities “got me feeling a way.” Former Buzzfeed senior editor Sam Stryker went straight to the point, simply tweeting “JOSHUA JACKSON IN TIGHTY WHITIES THANK YOU.”

People reports that Jackson was surprised by all the attention the scene got. During a video chat interview on “Live with Kelly and Ryan,” Jackson joked that parading around in his tighty-whities was the only thing missing from his career. He also made fun of his age, saying that he enjoys getting objectified even in his 40s.

Jackson also shared that the scene almost wouldn’t have happened, as the show producers thought that the scene might be too gratuitous. Two versions of the scene were shot, with one of them showing Jackson in a different pair of underwear. Fortunately, the producers settled on the scene featuring Jackson in tight white briefs, even if they don’t leave a lot to the imagination.

New episodes of “Little Fires Everywhere” air every Wednesday on Hulu. The show tells the story of the Richardson family, whose lives are thrown into chaos because of an “enigmatic mother and daughter.” Aside from Witherspoon, Jackson’s co-stars include Kerry Washington, Lexi Underwood, Rosemarie DeWitt, Megan Stott, Jade Pettyjohn, Gavin Lewis, and Jordan Elsass.

Outside of the show, Jackson is expecting a baby girl with his wife, actress Jodi Turner-Smith. USA Today reveals that while first-time parent Jackson is stressed about his wife’s pregnancy because of the rising number of COVID-19 infections, he says that they have been figuring things out on a daily basis. He also shared that he has been getting some parenting tips from his co-stars Witherspoon and Washington. The two actresses are both working mothers in Hollywood.

According to Jackson, both Witherspoon and Washington were “incredibly helpful” and have balanced their family life and career in a healthy way.
