The tables have allegedly turned for Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi.
New Idea recently claimed that ever since DeGeneres quit The Ellen Show, the comedian has just been staying at home, relaxing, and sleeping.
But her wife, Portia de Rossi, who quit acting years ago, has been getting offers left and right.
A source claimed that execs are trying to invite de Rossi to reprise her role in Ally McBeal. On top of this, there are also other offers to star in movies and other TV shows.
But de Rossi couldn’t just accept any offer that gets thrown her way because she needs to take DeGeneres’ feelings into consideration.
“She is used to being the breadwinner. But now Portia’s looking like she’s going to be the big star of the family. Portia’s torn as Ellen’s pretty low right now and going back to work could impact their marriage – and that’s something that she’s not willing to risk, even for the chance of a big break in her career,” the source said.
And the only way for de Rossi to be convinced to reprise her role is if Ally McBeal fans would petition for her return.
However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. As of late, there’s no proof that de Rossi has been getting offers to reprise her role in Ally McBeal.
And if she is, it’s unlikely for de Rossi to not accept the offer just because of DeGeneres.
It wouldn’t make sense for DeGeneres not to support her wife if she gets the rare opportunity to reprise her role in the TV show. After all, de Rossi has been supporting the comedian for all the years that they have been together.
The tabloid also linked DeGeneres’ alleged issues to the recent death of her ex-girlfriend, Anne Heche. They claimed that the funny woman is still in the process of moving on from the grief of losing Heche.
However, this is unlikely to be the case because DeGeneres and Heche were not on good terms before the latter passed away.
In fact, DeGeneres said a number of negative things about Heche shortly after they split. And she also accused Heche of using her for fame.
