Florence Pugh will skip the press conference for her new and upcoming film, “Don’t Worry Darling,” at the Venice International Film Festival on Monday. But, sources have claimed that she will still make an appearance at the event later that day.
Speaking to People, an insider close to the production of “Dune: Part Two” stated that the 26-year-old actress would fly to Venice from the set of her new film project. It is noted, however, that she will not land “until after the press conference,” resulting in her missing the event.
The magazine said that the assertion first surfaced in Variety later on Sunday.
Earlier reports stated that Florence Pugh will “limit” her promotional activities for “Don’t Worry Darling” at the film festival in Italy. It comes as she will still attend the event’s red carpet premiere of the title despite her absence at the press conference.
Variety did not provide any reason for the matter, although it noted that the Marvel actress’s flight will arrive in the European country “after the presser.”
It also later shared that festival representatives confirmed the matter to them.
Following the claims, though, the “Midsommar” star and her reps have yet to make official statements regarding the reports.
Florence Pugh’s reported absence from the event comes amid the feuding rumors and speculations she and Olivia Wilde have faced in the last few weeks.
In July, a source told Page Six that the “Don’t Worry Darling” director’s relationship with Harry Styles “did not go down well” with the “Black Widow” actress.
The outlet quoted the insider, alleging, “I can tell you for a fact that Flo seeing Olivia and Harry all over each other on set did not go down well as Olivia was still with Jason when she first hooked up with Harry.”
On Wednesday, a source also told Us Weekly that Olivia Wilde and Florence Pugh “have had several disagreements personally and professionally.” It was added that this is why the actress is not doing any press for “Don’t Worry Darling.”
The “Little Women” actress has yet to address the rumors and speculations. But, the “In Time” star previously dismissed the allegations in an interview with Variety for a cover feature.
Wilde told the publication that she does not “pay attention” to such things. However, she revealed that it “really upsets” her, particularly “the absurdity of invented clickbait.”
Meanwhile, witnesses saw Harry Styles and the “Don’t Worry Darling” director in Venice on Sunday. E! News said they were photographed “arriving separately” ahead of their film’s premiere at the Venice International Film Festival.
