Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are allegedly refusing to pay the taxpayers that shouldered the cost of refurbishing Frogmore Cottage.
According to National Enquirer, Markle and Prince Harry are enjoying their lives in Los Angeles while forgetting their promise to pay the taxpayers.
A source told the tabloid that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are noting but couch-surfers. After all, they are staying at Tyler Perry’s mansion for free.
The insider also slammed the royal couple for asking the taxpayers to pay $4 million to refurbish Frogmore Cottage when they didn’t even live there for a long time.
According to the source, Queen Elizabeth urged the royal couple to pay their debts but no one thinks that they will. At the end of the day, Prince Harry and Markle are allegedly only thinking about themselves even though the economy is already on a downward spiral due to the coronavirus pandemic.
However, Gossip Cop has already debunked the claims. The publication noted the fact that the tabloid is trying to peg Markle as the devil, while Prince Harry is henpecked.
The publication also stressed the fact that Markle and Prince Harry promised to pay the taxpayers and they never said that they won’t. However, it is unclear when the payments will be made. After all, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are no longer considered as working royals so their engagements are private.
In their statement post-Megxit, Prince Harry and Markle also said that they want to stay at Frogmore Cottage whenever they are in the United Kingdom. After all, the property was given to them by the queen as a gift after their royal wedding.
Prince Harry and Markle did not give up Frogmore Cottage. And even though they are residing in Los Angeles, they are still the rightful owners of the property.
In fact, Gossip Cop also debunked the claims that Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi will be moving into Frogmore Cottage. The publication said that this won’t happen because Prince Harry and Markle own the property.
Following Princess Beatrice and Mozzi’s wedding, it is likely for the queen to also gift them with a house of their own. Princess Eugenie moved to the Ivy Cottage after her wedding to Jack Brooksbank.
Rumors about Prince Harry and Markle have been rife throughout the past two weeks. But royal fans should always take them with a grain of salt.
