Even with most of the world in lockdown, celebrity feuds still go on. The most recent one to take the spotlight is the one between rappers Azealia Banks and Nicki Minaj, stemming from Minaj’s collaboration with Doja Cat and existing feud with Cardi B.
As recounted by Complex, the beef was reignited by Banks on Instagram, where she posted multiple entries on her Instagram Stories dragging Minaj and Doja Cat. Doja Cat was recently involved in her own controversy after it was discovered that she was apparently making racist remarks in a chat room frequented by alt-right men and incels.
In her rant, Banks alleges that Minaj refused to call out Doja Cat as her Say So collaboration with the rapper recently earned her a number one hit on the Billboard charts. Banks called Minaj a sell-out for keeping quiet and said that she was very disappointed in her.
This beef between Banks and Minaj has been going on since 2017 when Banks first went after Minaj before eventually apologizing. However, she started ragging on Minaj soon after before promising that she would stop doing it again.
Aside from attacking Minaj, Banks also alleged that she not only performed a sexual act on Entourage actor Adrian Grenier, but that the 43-year-old actor is also gay. As for proof of her claim that she performed a sexual act on Grenier and that he is a closeted homosexual, Banks showed a Polaroid photo.
Heavy also took note of Banks’s allegation that she had an affair with comedian Dave Chappelle. Banks first said that she should ruin Chappelle’s marriage by telling the world that they had an affair, but then said that Chappelle could sleep with her again as he was very good in bed.
The claim could be especially damaging as Chappelle has been married to his wife Elaine for close to two decades now. The couple has three children named Sulayman, Ibrahim, and Sonal.
Obviously, Banks’ claims drew a lot of reactions from people on social media. One Twitter user could not believe that Chappelle did not just walk away from Banks, especially since Chappelle had famously turned down a $50 million offer from Comedy Central. Yet another believed Banks to be lying as they believed that Chappelle probably had extensive documentation and records about his own sex life.
With coronavirus cases continuing to rise and lockdowns likely to be extended, Banks may just have enough free time to do more Instagram Stories exposes. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s update for May 25 states that there are now 1,637,456 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the United States. People who have died because of COVID-19 now number at 97,669.
